iFifth Update

Hello, everyone!

This year I am not teaching 5th grade!  It’s back to the computer lab for me, teaching K – 8 technology.  I also am taking on a new challenge – teaching elementary school art.  So I will not be posting here, although I will leave the blog up, because there are lots of good memories and examples of classroom technology integration here!

If you want to follow what I am teaching this year, here are blogs I will be using:

Pixels and Paintbrushes – Elementary Technology and Art

The Middle Pages – Middle School Technology

Thanks again to all the students, parents, and my PLN of educators around the world that helped make teaching 5th grade an amazing experience!

Update on Mrs. Townsend

Students, I just wanted to give you a quick update on Mrs. Townsend.  Every day she gets a tiny bit better!  She still cannot move on her right side and cannot talk yet.  But she definitely understands you when you talk to her and we use yes and no questions to communicate. She can sit up on her own and has been feeding herself soft foods.  She is starting to make sounds to try to talk and is able to read and write a little bit.  She will have to relearn how to do many things – almost like being back in elementary school again.  Thanks for continuing to pray for her.

Here is a link to her “blog” where I am updating people about her condition:

Farewell, iFifth 2010!

I can hardly believe that this year is done!  Fifth graders, thanks for a great year!  I know you all worked hard and I hope you learned a lot and had some fun in the process.  I especially liked being able to do some great technology projects with you,  You did many things that people all over the world noticed and that was awesome!

I was going to have everyone do an online survey for me at the end of the year, but because I have been spending so much time at the hospital recently, I wasn’t able to complete it.  But if you wander back to the blog this summer, I hope you will take a minute to leave a comment about your favorite parts of Math, Social Studies, and Science this year.  Also, I would appreciate any suggestions of ways I could improve these classes.

I will miss you all.  Have a great summer and be sure to stop in and visit me next year!

Love, Miss Bosch

Commenting with our Kansas Blogging Buddies

Students, earlier in the year a school in Kansas left comments at our Explorer Blogs. On Tuesday, we are going to leave comments at their Revolutionary War Blogs.

Your comment should have at least 2 sentences. Remember to use good sentences, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Sign your name as “Your First Name” from Michigan. Remember that you are leaving the comment for the famous person, not the student.

Good ideas of ways to leave interesting comments:

  • I learned
  • I didn’t know
  • I agree
  • I disagree
  • Something I admire or respect
  • It was interesting
  • Leave a question about something you are curious about.
